Itchy Hearts

To survive in a patriarchal system, many Indonesian women must endure the daily fight against discrimination,
gender inequality and classism.

In a Land where tradition has almost more importance than education, many Balinese women are forced to carry the weight of their families and communities alone through tireless labor.  One could almost say that the subordination of the sexes is considered normal.

Early 2020 I visited Bali, and used photography as a window to visually document the everyday life of a Balinese woman in a man orientated world.
